My Coronavirus Journal

My Coronavirus Journal

Compiled by Lizzie Allard, and originally shared in her Facebook Group, the My Coronavirus Journal is a printable pdf file to help kids process the current coronavirus pandemic. It starts by allowing the child to record some information about themselves and also includes pages where they can record what’s going on in their lives as well as a daily page where they can journal what is going on.

Lizzie has generously allowed us to repost the journal here on Hope 4 Hurting Kids, and you can find the whole pdf download at this link.

Coronavirus Book For Children

Coronavirus Book For Children

The Coronavirus Book For Children was written by Elizabeth Jenner, Kate Wilson and Nia Roberts, and illustrated by Axel Scheffler. The book is fully digital and meant for elementary aged children. It is free for everyone and can be read on screen or printed out to share with your child.

Published by Nosy Crow the book provides kids with information about Coronavirus, and as we know – information is critical in the battle against anxiety. • How do you catch the coronavirus?
  • What happens if you catch the coronavirus?
  • Why are people worried about catching the coronavirus?
  • Is there a cure for the coronavirus?
  • Why are some places we normally go to closed?
  • What can I do to help?
  • What’s going to happen next?

Ultimate Kids’ Guide to the Coronavirus

Ultimate Kids' Guide to the CoronavirusThere is a lot of information out there these days for parents on how to talk to kids about coronavirus, and we are trying our best here at Hope 4 Hurting Kids to share as much of it as possible. However, there is not enough information directed specifically to kids. This guide from the website Live Science is an awesome comprehensive guide and earns its title as the ultimate kids’ guide to coronavirus.

The articles is written in language kids can understand and covers questions many kids have including:

  • How does it make people sick?
  • How will I know if I get it?
  • What can I do to help?
  • Should I be worried?
  • What is being done to keep us safe?
  • Will my school close?
  • Will I be able to see my friends?
  • When could the coronavirus outbreak end?

Coronavirus Through the Eyes of a Child

Coronavirus through the eyes of a childMany adults are feeling a lot of anxiety today – about their jobs, about their health, about the economy and about the unknown. But, what does it look like to see Coronavirus through the eyes of a child. Some of the authors at Slate.com asked their kids to share what they thought about the Covid-19 pandemic.

Some themes are common:

  • The change to online school and missing friends is difficult.
  • They understand that adults are worried.
  • It has disrupted their lives.
  • They are worried about the adults in their lives.
  • They have questions.
  • They are experiencing a multitude of emotions.

Here are few of my favorite quotes from the article that offer up a glimpse of what many kids are experiencing these days.
